The XtremeAIR IG20-U30 range hood is a great fit for the more budget conscious shopper, as it less expensive as other XtremeAIR range hoods. When it comes to budget range hood models, the manufacturers will have to save money somewhere along the manufacturing line. In certain cases, you will end up with cheaply made range hood exteriors. Lucky for us, XtremeAIR isn’t as extreme in this regard compared to other range hood manufacturers. Like its more high end brothers and sisters, the XtremeAIR IG20-U30 is made out of commercial grade, non-magnetic stainless steel. Exterior-wise the only real difference compared to other XtremeAIR models is that the stainless steel of the XtremeAIR IG20-U30 is made out of 0.7mm rather than 1.0mm. The only real difference compared to the other XtremeAIR models is the amount of power it has. Where other models hover around 900 CFM, the XtremeAIR IG20-U30 is considerably less powerful with its single 300 CFM motor. However, this doesn’t automatically mean that this a bad range hood. On the contrary, in certain situations the relative lack of power of this model could be a good thing, as you might have to provide makeup air in your kitchen if your range hood is too powerful (which depends on your city’s/state’s building code. As you can imagine, this could turn out to be quite costly.
The only flaw we’ve been able to notice is the price. Although the XtremeAIR IG20-U30 is considered a budget model, it’s still quite expensive as far as budget models are considered. However, seeing as XtremeAIR range hoods are generally high end range hoods, purchasing the XtremeAIR IG20-U30 is money well spent, as you get a quality range hood in return. All-in all, the XtremeAIR IG20-U30 is a great range hood for a reasonable price.
