The Broan-NuTone GLA2303SS under cabinet range hood is quite a popular range hood, and for good reason. Its inoffensive and even stylish exterior makes it quite a good fit for many kitchens; its 350 CFM powered fan will prove capable enough to make most home kitchens pollutant free; its installation shouldn’t be too hard due to the included EZ1 brackets. All of these pros make for quite a solid offer.

As with almost any range hood, there is room for improvement. The Broan-NuTone GLA2303SS under cabinet range hood would benefit most from either having a centrifugal fan rather than a radial fan, or, alternatively, a dual fan setup. While axial fans do a great job in moving air if there’s no resistance (in a similar way a regular electric fan does), their effectiveness lessens when there’s more resistance. When air has to travel through a filter, it encounters resistance. While axial fans will still get the job done, centrifugal fans are a bit more effective with pulling air through a filter.

What the Broan-NuTone GLA2303SS exceeds in, and does so better than some of the other range hoods in this list, is to strike a great balance between aethetics on one hand and cost on the other. With its minimalistic design it’s quite a stylish range hood, made by a reputable range hood brand, which is reasonably prices. Although it doesn’t excel in anything particular, it does everything well enough.
