Do I need a range hood?

A lot of us might be pondering the following (very important) question: “Do I need a range hood?”

The short answer: yes

The long answer: range hoods are a major contributor to the improvement of the air quality in your home. Although indoor air quality isn’t something you’d think about daily, it should definitely be something to take into consideration. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states the following:

“In the last several years, a growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities. Other research indicates that people spend approximately 90 percent of their time indoors. Thus, for many people, the risks to health may be greater due to exposure to air pollution indoors than outdoors.”

So, to answer the question “Do I need a range hood?”, the answer is a resounding yes.

Why do I need a range hood?

It’s baffling that we are willing to take precautions to ensure the safety of our families when it comes to other perceived threats. For instance, a lot of people are willing to install some kind of security measures in and around the house. When it comes to protecting ourselves and our loved ones; why is the very air we breathe and the air pollutants we expose ourselves to on a daily basis left out of consideration? Since range hoods come in all shapes, sizes and price ranges, there’s no excuse to opt out. Do your health and the health of your family a favor, and get yourself a range hood.
