The COSMO 668ICS900 is a solid choice if you’re looking for a no-nonsense island range hood. Although it might not be as powerful as the other two range hoods in this top 3, its 380 CFM motor will be enough for most home kitchens. Exterior-wise it looks almost identical to the number two in this top 3 of best island range hoods of 2023. However, the number two in this list is a bit more expensive and has more power under the hood. If you feel 380 CFM will suffice then you can’t go wrong with the COSMO 668ICS900. We’re pleasantly surprised COSMO has chosen to equip the 668ICS900 with an option to convert the range hood from a ducted model to a ductless model. Sadly, the CFK1-TM charcoal filters needed to do so are not included and need to be purchased separately.

On the whole, the COSMO 668ICS900 is a great choice. The sleek, reflective stainless steel exterior of the COSMO 668ICS900, combined with its tempered glass canopy will be a great fit for almost any kitchen. However, if you’re looking for a bit more power, check out the number two in our list.

Where the Tieasy island range hood stands out is its great price-performance ratio. You’ll get a whole lot of island range hood for a decent price. The Tieasy island range hood packs a powerful 700 CFM motor, which is quite rare in this price range. Such power is usually found in range hoods with a higher price tag. This will give you ample power to clear your kitchen of all air pollutants. (Be sure to provide make-up air.)

The Tieasy island range hood comes in two versions: a version with an LCD touch screen and a version with good ol’ push buttons. Please note that the former will be equipped with baffle filters, while the latter will have mesh filters. This increased baffle surface of the IKIS02 will potentially let the IKIS02 cover a wider range than the IKIS01. Although the shape of the tempered glass on the IKIS01 might help a bit with capturing fumes and cooking particles, it shouldn’t outperform an extra baffle filter. Obviously all of this depends on the size of your stove. If your stove isn’t too big either range hood will be fine.
