Combined with its bulky exterior, it gives off a solid quality feel. The touch screen feels responsive and intuitive, and doubles as a clock. The 343 CFM fans will prove to be enough for most kitchens, we’d love for it to have a little bit more power. But don’t let that deter you from choosing the AKDY RH0405 island range hood, as it will suffice in keeping your kitchen free of cooking smells and other pollutants.

We do wish AKDY had opted for baffle filters rather than mesh filters, but they shouldn’t form any problems in trapping the aerosolized grease. The AKDY RH0405 island range hood is a great choice. What sets it apart from other island range hoods is its ability to unite practicality and style.

We had a very hard time picking the top 2 of this top 3 best island range hoods. To be honest, it could’ve gone either way, as they are similar in a lot of aspects. They have a similar form factor, which combines a stainless steel body with a tempered glass canopy. The AKDY ‎AK-RH0481 island range hood has a beautiful black stainless steel color. Although the color possibly makes this island range hood a bit harder to match with certain kitchen colors, it exudes a sophisticated and modern look. The 343 CFM fan will get the job done, hower, we do wish it had a bit more power.

Similar to our number one spot, the AKDY ‎AK-RH0481 island range hood has the option to convert into a ductless island range hood. We absolutely love this option! Where the AKDY ‎AK-RH0481 beats the number one in this top 3 is that AKDY generously includes the (CF0011) carbon filter kit.

We absolutely love this feature, and wish it came standard with all range hoods. Not everyone has the option to connect their range hood to a duct. Especially in high-rise apartment buildings, it is often prohibited to connect your range hood to a duct, as it messes with the airflow.

The Cosmo COS-668ICS750 island range hood isn’t without its drawbacks. Though 380 CFM might get the job done in most home kitchens, we would have liked it to be a bit more powerful. The installation might prove to be a bit tricky, as the installation guide is very limited. Lastly, the clock displays military time only (24-hour clock) rather than a 12 hour clock. Perhaps we’re just nitpicking at this point, but we feel correcting these point would have made the Cosmo COS-668ICS750 an even better deal than it already is. All in all, the Cosmo COS-668ICS750 range hood is sleek, modern and offers great value for your money.
